At GEM Floats, every float and jig that leaves our shop is made by hand — right here in Wisconsin. We fish, and we build tackle the way we'd want to use it ourselves.

Our Story

GEM Floats was born out of a simple frustration: wanting to cast my float up river, against any wind and land it where I wanted it.  Cork offered accuracy, balance, and performance on the water.  Over the years we've added jigs and turned this hobby into a family-owned small business. 

How We Make Our Floats & Jigs

Our floats are built from natural cork — a time-tested material prized for its buoyancy, sensitivity, and durability. Our lead jigs are poured and painted in-house, giving us full control over weight, hook placement, and finish quality.

The result is tackle that performs consistently, cast after cast, season after season.
